My 15-year journey as a model took me around the world several times, but most relevant to my life today, it led me to a better understanding of my body's inner workings.

It all began after leaving my home state of Kentucky for the Big Apple--I quickly discovered that my college diet of Taco Bell and other shortcuts wasn't gonna cut it in the modeling world! Besides getting my body in tip-top shape with exercise and cleaner foods, the bonus was that my energy levels soared--gone were near black-outs during photo shoots that I later realized were mere sugar crashes.

After years of trial and error with my own self-discovery, and voraciously reading every nutrition book I could get my hands on, I tied that knowledge together with an intensive nutrition program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City in 2004, which focuses on both Eastern and Western philosophies. I was trained in more than 100 dietary theories and a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. My education continues by the day while I stay on top of nutrition news, attend seminars, and especially as I learn directly from clients with each unique situation.

Along with helping clients gain balance through integrative health coaching, I also support women through big life changes, and additionally am a freelance magazine writer.

I currently live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on the traditional lands of the Tewa people, and can usually be found outdoors with my three kids: hiking, skiing, finding treasures, etc.

Since becoming a mom, I've been more passionate than ever about keeping a healthy and green household, both for our personal health and for the health of our environment. I hope to share important research that I've accrued along the way with other moms, as well as personal tips I've found helpful in maintaining that "inner mama balance" (which is a tricky tightrope to walk!).
